The Faculty of Legal Studies, Mewar University organized an academic visit for the first-year law students to the District & Sessions Court, Chittorgarh on November 14, 2025. The visit aimed to provide foundational practical exposure to the functioning of the judicial system, courtroom procedures, and the working environment of various special courts.
Upon arrival, the students and accompanying faculty members were warmly welcomed by Advocate S. P. Singh, President, District Bar Association, Chittorgarh. He interacted with the students, briefed them on the structure of the district judiciary, and highlighted the importance of courtroom ethics and legal professionalism.
During the visit, students observed live proceedings in the Criminal Courts, Civil Courts, NDPS Court, Anti-Corruption Court, and the POCSO Court. This exposure enabled them to understand the procedural aspects of trial work, witness examination, role of public prosecutors, defense counsels, and the functioning of special courts dealing with sensitive and high-severity offences. The visit also helped students gain clarity on real-time judicial processes which complement their classroom learning.
The court visit was successfully conducted by Mr. Nitin Tripathi and Mr. Ambuj Mishra, Assistant Professors, Faculty of Legal Studies. The overall supervision of the visit was provided by Mrs. Geetanjali Sharma, Head of the Department, Faculty of Legal Studies, Mewar University, ensuring smooth coordination and enriched learning outcomes for all participants.
The Faculty of Legal Studies extends its special thanks to Prof. (Dr.) Alok Mishra, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Mewar University, for his continuous support and encouragement towards experiential learning initiatives. His guidance remains pivotal in enhancing the academic excellence of the department.
The visit proved highly insightful for first-year students, giving them a meaningful introduction to the practical dimensions of legal education and strengthening their understanding of the judicial system.
