The Faculty of Legal Studies, Mewar University, organized a guest lecture on November 8, 2025, as part of its Value Added Course (VAC) lecture series. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Puneet Bafna, Professor, Amity University Rajasthan, who is a well-known academician and researcher in the field of Intellectual Property Rights.
The theme of the lecture was “Intellectual Property Rights: An In-depth Analysis in Indian Context.” The event commenced with a formal welcome and felicitation ceremony, where the Dean Academics of Mewar University, Prof. (Dr.) Deepak Vyas, Prof. (Dr.) Sadhana Mandloi, Dean Faculty of Commerce and Management and Dr. Rajesh Bhatt (HOD), Faculty Commerce and Management felicitated and extended a warm welcome to the esteemed speaker. Dr. Bafna, as a gesture of appreciation for his valuable contribution to the academic exchange.
During his session, Dr. Bafna provided a comprehensive understanding of the evolution, relevance, and practical implications of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in India. He discussed various forms of IPR such as patents, copyrights, trademarks, and geographical indications, along with their significance in promoting innovation and protecting creativity. The lecture also highlighted recent judicial trends and case studies, making the session informative and engaging for the students and faculty members.
The event witnessed active participation from the students, who interacted with the speaker through question-and-answer discussions. Their queries reflected keen interest in the subject and helped deepen the learning experience.
The lecture was attended by faculty members of the department including Mrs. Geetanjali Sharma , Head of the Department, Faculty of Legal Studies, Mr. Nitin Tripathi, Mr. Eshan Singhal and Mr. Pradyumn Sharma, who contributed to the smooth conduct and academic rigor of the session.
