The Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Mewar University, successfully organized an Industrial Visit and Certificate Distribution Ceremony as part of the Value Added Course (VAC) on “Tractor Operation and Maintenance” on 3rd October 2025 at the Mahindra Tractors Plant, Jaipur.
The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with hands-on industrial exposure and help them understand the real-world applications of mechanical and electrical engineering principles in tractor manufacturing and maintenance.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe the complete manufacturing process of tractors, including assembly line operations, engine installation, transmission systems, quality control procedures, and final testing. They also gained valuable insights into maintenance practices, inspection techniques, and the safety standards maintained in large-scale industrial environments.

Throughout the visit, students actively participated in interactive sessions conducted by Mahindra’s industry experts. These sessions provided deep insights into modern agricultural machinery, automation and robotics in manufacturing, and career opportunities in the agricultural equipment and automotive sectors.
Students were introduced to various components and subsystems of tractors, including:
- Engine and transmission mechanisms
- Hydraulic and power steering systems
- Electrical and control circuits
-Tractor chassis design and assembly
-Preventive maintenance and diagnostic techniques
A Question-and-Answer session was also conducted, where students raised relevant queries regarding production processes, technological advancements, and innovations in agricultural machinery. All questions were addressed comprehensively by the Mahindra technical experts. Students maintained excellent discipline throughout the visit and strictly adhered to all safety protocols and plant regulations.
Following the industrial visit, a Certificate Distribution Ceremony was held to felicitate the students who successfully completed the Value Added Course on “Tractor Operation and Maintenance.” The certificates were presented by Mr. D. C. Trivedi (Plant Head) and Mr. Kulbeer Singh (Head, R&D Department).
On this occasion, Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, expressed his sincere gratitude to Mr. Don Lewis (Head – Skill Development & Education), Mr. D. C. Trivedi (Plant Head), and Mr. Kulbeer Singh (Head, R&D Department) along with the entire Mahindra Tractors team for their continuous support, cooperation, and valuable knowledge sharing. He also extended heartfelt thanks to the University Administration for their encouragement and motivation in promoting experiential and skill-based learning through such initiatives.
The event concluded successfully, leaving students motivated and enriched with practical industrial knowledge, which will significantly benefit their academic growth and professional development.
