One day workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

A workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was conducted by the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Mewar University on 10th , June 2022 under the flagship of Kalam Program for Intellectual Literacy and Awareness Campaign (KAPILA). This program is being conducted in collaboration with Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The session started at 11 a.m. at Maharana Pratap Seminar Hall with lamp lighting ceremony and a welcome address by Shri. L.S Rawat, Joint Registrar, Mewar University. Senior officials, faculty members and more than 150 students from different departments were present in the workshop. The speaker of the session was Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Assistant Controller, Patents & Designs, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. Of India. Mrs. Kavita Paliwal, Director TSN, Palwal, Haryana, was also present in the workshop. The workshop was an influencing one and Dr. Jitendra interestingly narrated the importance of IPR, the benefits of filing the Intellectual property that protects a person’s artistic works, literary and innovative works, inventions or design for a specific period of time. He guided on the different types of IPR illustrating about the registration on trademark, patents, designs, copyrights, SICLDR and, how they benefits us. He also encouraged us to carry out patent searches in the field concern. The session was an interactive one, where faculty members and students discussed their queries. The speaker also expressed some innovative ideas with proper guidance on the scope of developing such innovative works, where some of these ideas may result in to patentable inventions. The Session ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Kapil Nahar, Deputy Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
