Techno Zeal 2K17 at Mewar University

TECHNO-ZEAL 2K17: TEN DAYS OF MEWAR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ GLORY

 

Annual function at Mewar University entitled, ‘Techno-Zeal 2K17’ appeared to have started from where it concluded last year. It was just that this time around the amount of zeal, enthusiasm, compassion, eagerness and gusto multiplied. Unsurprisingly a whooping 1500+ participating students came out as the real heroes. The surprising package from these entire community of emerging heroes were the elevated number of female students in comparison to male students.

 

The success of the event was implanted much before the start date of the function i.e., March 2, 2017. A committee was formed under the leadership of Mr. Dhwaj Kirti Sharma, Chief Convenor, Techno-Zeal 2K17 on February 8, 2017. Techno-Zeal 2K17 was divided into three categories of events with 10 events in sports category having 31 different sub-categories and offering 84 prizes, 20 events in technical section tendering 56 prizes, while 12 events in cultural section with 34 prizes to offer. Most notable among the technical events included Roadies, Treasure Hunt & Fatal Impact with more than 100 participants minting their money in each of these events. Among Cultural events, Sur Sangram & Nritya Natraj attracted the maximum number of participants. Cricket, Football, Kho-Kho, Volley-Ball and every sports event was instant hit as it scratched the departmental rivalry with the right dose of sportsmanship spirit.

 

Nand Lal Gadiya Academic Excellence award ,seven extra-curricular excellence awards and four categories of award under the name of best students in Group Discussion, Assignment, Presentation and Chart/Model across two semesters were also presented on the Pre-Auunal Function of Techno-Zeal 2K17 on March 10, 2017 giving away 43 prizes. The pre-Annual Function was presided over by Shri Govind Lal Ji Gadiya, Secretary, Mewar Education Scoiety as Chief Guest of the event accompanied with Shri R. K. Gadiya, Member, Board of Management, Mewar University as Guest of Honour. Distribution of 102 certificate of Appreciation and 100+ certificates to student coordiantors of Techno-Zeal 2K17 was also held. Thus, taking the final total to roaring 220+ prizes and 200+ certificates of appreciation.

 

Annual Function on March 11, 2017 was presided over by the Honourable Chairperson, Mewar Unviersity, Dr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya. Chief Guest of the event was Prof. (Dr.) K. L. Sharma the Former Vice Chancellor, Rajasthan University, Jaipur and Guest of Honour of the event was Prof. (Dr.) V. B. Singh, Former Vice Chancellor, Maharana Paratap University of Agriculture & Technology, Udaipur. Prof. (Dr.) V. N. Rajshekaharan Pillai, President, Mewar University welcomed the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour of the event. Prof. (Dr.) K. L. Sharma in his address to the august gathering mentioned how he was awestruck by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) V. N. Rajshekharan Pillai as President of Mewar University. He further inspired students towards academic canonization. He also introduced students with the workings and teachings of Prof. (Dr.) Amartya Sen, Pavan Verma, Ramchandra Guha etc. Prof. (Dr.) V. B. Singh in his address to the gathering emphasized on the research and extension activity of the University as its social obligation. Honourable Chairperson in his presidential note encouraged and thanked students for their maximum participation in the annual tech-fest and employed the stage to reorient every member of Mewar family with the vision, mission and aspiration of Mewar University.

 

Later, a group of folk artist from Rajasthan (Begun, Sadas, & Chittorgarh) offered the audience an essence of Mewari culture with their dance & song performances. Notable among the performances by them was the Bhavai Folk Dance presented by Mr. Laxmi Narayan Rawal (Rashtrapati Awardee). All these artists were presented with memento and a certificate of appreciation. Academic Excellence Awards & Best Player Awards immediately followed after the recognition to the local folk artists.

 

Next in the sequence was all about turning the table to the most awaited section of the function, the cultural programmes. A total of six performances one after the other uncovered the forgotten spirit of the audience as the regular chant of ‘Once more’ became a common maxim after every performance. Mr. D. K. Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Engineering gave away the Vote of Thanks and finally the programme was concluded with National Anthem.
