Chittorgarh:  Mewar University held its first convocation ceremony for its students who had successfully completed their courses and earned their degrees.  Under an overcast sky, the students, teachers and staff were all seen excited to witness the ceremony taking place for the first time on their campus.  The University management had made all the arrangement to start in time and be ready for any eventuality like rains, etc. The passing out students, their parents and other invitees were present in large numbers, and the ambience was filled with enthusiasm.

The convocation started with the traditional ceremony of lighting the lamp. Subsequently, MU Vice Chancellor Prof. P. Ramaiah introduced the chief guest, Dr. Chandrakant Kokate, Vice Chancellor of KLE University, Karnataka, and delivered the welcome address before the gathering. Prof. Ramaiah stated that the university is following all the norms and regulations laid down by the UGC and AICTE and making a special effort to make education accessible to the underprivileged sections of the society

Chancellor Dr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya gave away 44 PhD and 27 M.Phil students their degrees on the stage. For other students, their respective departments had made arrangement for distributing their degrees. Dr. Gadiya said that students need to have a positive mindset and strong will power to succeed in life. He told the students that success does not always go to the smartest or most intelligent; it often goes to the one who works hard with dedication. Success is always the outcome of hard work and perseverance, Dr Gadiya added. He urged the students to distinguish themselves in their career and win plaudits for the university as well as the nation.

Dr. Chandrakant Kokate also spoke on the occasion, underscoring the significance of quality over quantity. He said that the educational institutions should focus on imparting quality education rather than on achieving the target of a certain number of students passing out.

Prof. M. Sudershanam, Registrar, delivered the vote of thanks.  Present on the occasion were Shri Govind Lal Gadiya, Member, Board of Management, Shri R. K. Gadiya, Member, Advisory Board, Dr. Alka Agarwal, Director, Board of Studies, Prof. R. K. Paliwal, Dean, Basic Sciences and other higher officials, faculty members and staff.
