Book Release Function and Orientation Program held at MU

Chittorgarh:On 3rd January, 2015, a book on teaching and learning skills in the realm of higher education was released at a function organized at Maharana Pratap Seminar Hall in Mewar University. The book entitled “Teaching and Learning Skills in Higher Education” has been jointly written by Dr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya, Chancellor, Mewar University and Dr. Ram Chandra, formerly Deputy Vice Chancellor, Cavendish University, Zambia, who recently joined back Mewar University.

The book provides broad coverage of higher education pedagogy and the skills involved in Teaching and Learning across diverse subject areas, educational institutions, and levels of instructional knowledge. The book lays emphasis on the dissemination of knowledge for improving standards of higher education pedagogy.  

The inaugural speech was given by Hon’ble chairperson Dr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya, followed by the release of the book. In the next speech, Prof. Ram Chandra elaborated on the teaching and learning skills adopted in Mewar University. Prof. Chandra also spoke on the credit system to be followed.

A one-day Orientation Program on “Teaching and Learning” was also organized at Maharana Pratap Seminar Hall in Mewar University. The program was held in three sessions.

The orientation program was aimed at streamlining the teaching and learning process along with the counseling of the students. The need to conduct an orientation program for faculty was long felt in order to remove any anomalies.

Mr. S.K. Das, Director (Training),also gave an enlightening presentation on the role of a subject teacher in training programs.

Third session of the program started with the presentation of HOD’s on “the role of teacher as a teacher counselor. Thereafter, an open session was organized for all faculty members in which our chairperson shared his views on “How to improve Teaching Skills and Counseling”.

 The Program ended with the singing of National Anthem.
