Mewar University and KIBI to offer joint programmes in Buddhist studies
Mewar University signed an MoU with Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI) to offer joint programmes in Buddhist studies. The University will start offering B.A. in Buddhist Studies from July 2014 session. Other courses are likely to follow soon.
KIBI (www.kibsociety.org ) is a school of higher learning based on the teachings of Lord Buddha and the treatises of Buddhism. Founded by 16th Karmapa in 1979, KIBI aims at furthering wisdom and compassion among people based on the Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism .
Since 1990, KIBI has offered a 4-year-programme, which is awarded as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Buddhist Philosophy . Courses in Tibetan lanhuage are also available. KIBI promotes basic Buddhist learning and ancient Buddhist wisdom.
