Vishwakarma Jayanti celebrated at Mewar University
Chittorgarh:On the auspicious occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti, Mewar University organised Vishwakarma puja and hawan in the mechanical workshop. The puja and hawan were attended by faculty members, non-teaching staff and students. Prasad was distributed among the students and staff after hawan.
Mr. Govind Lal Ji Gadiya,Secretary of Mewar Education Society , Mr. H. Widhani, OSD, Dr. R.K. Paliwal, Dean of Basic Sciences, Dr. R.K. Garg, Dy.Dean of Basic Sciences, HOD of Mechanical Engineering and all the faculty and staff members were present on the occasion.
During Vishwakarma Puja, we pay our deep obeisance to Lord Vishwakarma, a Hindu god, considered the divine architect and one of the fourteen precious beings born out of the Samudra Manthan according to Hindu mythology. He is supposed to have constructed the holy city of Dwarka where Lord Krishna ruled, the Maya Sabha of the Pandavas and was the creator of many fabulous weapons for the gods.
The puja is held generally on 17th September, primarily in factories and industrial areas. People pray for better future, safe working conditions and success in respective fields.
It is customary for craftsman to worship their tools on this day in the name of Lord Vishwakarma. So, modern electronics servers are also worshipped for their smooth functioning.
