Department of Paramedical, Mewar University offers B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology to prepare Laboratory personnel for imports teaching and research hospitals. Clinical laboratories provides a unique opportunity to candidates to acquire not only the knowledge and skill in the laboratory techniques but also to sharpen up the edge in the laboratory.The mission of the Medical Laboratory Technology Programmes is to prepare the students to function efficiently and safely in the clinical laboratory setting.
The department aims at preparing health care professionals to assist the medical specialists in dealing the patients who under so medical care and treatment related to diagnostic and therapeatic technologies.
The medical laboratory technologist uses precision instruments such as microscopes and automatic chemical analyzers to test chemically, biologically, and physically blood, tissue, and fluids of the human body. Results of such tests are essential in the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of the disease. The course is based on the standards met and promoted by the NAACLS , New Delhi .
