      Summary of Two Days Industrial Visit at Ultratech Cement Plant, Shambhupura,Chittorgarh

A two-day industrial visit by the Civil Engineering Department of Mewar University was done at Ultratech Cement Limited Chittorgarh on 17-18 October 2022. During the visit, Mr. Surendra Joshi, Senior Manager, Quality Control, UltraTech Cement Limited, briefed the students about the quality related information and functioning of cement manufacturing plant. Along with this, the Deputy Manager of the company, Mr. Brijmohan Maheshwari, gave brief information about the tests related to cement. On the last day of the visit, Mr. Gaurav Singh, Manager Technical Service, UltraTech Cement Ltd. briefed about different cement products and their market capitalization. The two-day industrial visit was organized by Dr. Esar Ahmed, Head Civil Engineering and Assistant Professor Shashivendra Dulawat. During the industrial visit, Mr. Sudhir Sharma, Head Quality Control, UltraTech Cement, Mr. DK Sharma, Dean Academics, Dr. R. Raja, Dean Engineering, Mr. Kapil Nahar, Deputy Dean Engineering, Himanshu Kumar Sadhya, Anshal Kumar, Insaf Mohammad, Abhishek Upadhyay and Mewar University management supported. The main objective of industrial visit is to provide an exposure to students about practical working environment. Students also get an opportunity to gain knowledge about industrial practices through this industrial visit as well as introduction to new technology in the field of civil engineering.

Webinar on “Crack Prevention Techniques for RCC Slab”

Department of Civil Engineering, Mewar University, Gangrar, Chittorgarh organized a National Webinar on “Crack Prevention Techniques for RCC Slab” in Collaboration with Ultratech Cement Ltd & Indian Concrete Institute, Ghaziabad Rajasthan on 15th October, 2022 at Seminar Hall room no 106, The aim of seminar was to provide knowledge Crack Prevention Techniques for RCC Slab.
The key note speaker was Er. M. A. Joseph, Regional Specialty Concrete Manager, Ultratech RMC, TN & Kerala at 11:00 AM. The webinar was conducted in simple language and with real form in online mode. Er. Joseph explained the causes of cracks in RCC slab in a great depth. He also explained the prevention techniques of cracks in RCC slab. He shared his rich experience with students. Near about 200 hundred students from Mewar University and nearby institutions from various disciplines & Faculty Members were joined in online mode..

Webinar on safety measures at the construction site

Department of Civil Engineering, Mewar University organized a webinar on the topic of “safety measures at the construction site” on 17/09/2022. Eng. Lasmar Garba, Senior Engineer, Jagwe State Polytechnic, Nigeria was the speaker of the webinar. he briefed the students about Safety Majors in construction site. Also, how we should be careful at the construction site he explained briefly. The webinar was coordinated by Mr Shashivendra Dulawat, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engg and in the end the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Esar Ahmed, Head of Department, Civil Engineering.   Students including Prof DK Sharma, Dean Academics, Prof R Raja, Dean Engineering, Kapil Nahar, Deputy Dean Engineering, Himanshu Kumar, Anshul Kumar, Abhishek Upadhyay and Insaf Mohammad were present in the webinar.

Teachers’ Day Celebration 2022

On 5th of September – 2022, Teachers’ day was celebrated by Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Mewar University, on the birthday of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, a staunch believer of education and a well known diplomat, visionary, statesman, scholar, President of India and above all, a perfect Teacher.
The program was celebrated at Maharana Pratap Auditorium after 03:00 pm onwards. Students decorated the hall with the decorative items on the eve of Teachers’ day and the faculties were welcomed warmly. The program was started with lightening of lamp for the Maa Sarasvati. The anchoring was done by the students, Ms Rajni Thakur and Ms Urvashi Shortriya. Prof. (Dr.) Chitralekha, Dean Faculty of Fine Arts, Yoga & Naturopathy, gave a speech on this auspicious occasion and give the message of what actually Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan wanted. She explained very beautifully the importance of Teachers’ Day to all the students. She said that Teachers mould the lives of the students by guiding them, by enriching their personalities, by imparting ethical and moral values and have more influence on them.
More than 100 teachers and 250 students along with higher dignitaries of the University were present. Students gave their performance through dance, singing and speech. International students of University captivated everyone with their beautiful dance program. On the request of students, Mr. Abhishek Kumar, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering, sing a song. A quiz competition was also conducted for the teachers by the students and also gave chocolates to the teachers, who gave the correct answer. Everyone remembered Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan in a cheerful environment. Each of the faculties was given a gift as a token of gratitude to show the acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put by the teachers towards their development. At last, Dr. Esar Ahmad, Head of Department, Civil Engineering ended the program by giving vote of thanks.

Summary of One Day Webinar on Ready Mix Concrete

An online webinar lecture was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering Mewar University in association with Ultra Tech Cement on May 1st 2020. The topic of webinar series was “Reday-Mix Concrete”by Expert Engineer, Saurabh Dadhich, Ultra Tech Cement. A group of around 70 students of B.Tech and Diploma got the opportunity to learn about preparation of ready mix concrete, maintain the quality of concrete, selection of right material for concrete, storage, transfer of ready-mix concrete and what is the importance of ready-mix concrete in heavy construction etc., through ZOOM Software. Under the supervision of Mr. Shashivendra Dulawat, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department, Mr. Himanshu Kumar Sadhya, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department, and Mr. Anshal Kumar, Teaching Assistant, Civil Engineering Department, the lecture was organized successfully.
Vote of Thanks was delivered to Mr. Saurabh Sir, Civil Engineer Ultra Tech Cement, Shambhu Pura, Chittorgarh by Mr. Shashivendra Dulawat, for arranging online Webinar lecture on a short notice. Summary of the Survey Camp

To provide practical exposure to the students of Civil Engineering Department about surveying,acamp visit to uneven terrain sites Hoda Hills near by Bhadesar and Rithola Hills Near by Rithola Chouraha Chittorgarh, was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering from February 10-14, 2020. A group of more than 100students of B.Tech and Diploma got the opportunity to learn aboutreconnaissance, marking stations, fixing stations, plotting information of the ground on paper, transfer of stations, record keeping, plane table, auto-leveling, contouring, use of total station, precautions and safety measures while performing survey operations etc.The survey camp was organized for 5 days, guided by faculty member Mr. Shashivendra Dulawat, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department, Mr. Himanshu Kumar Sadhya, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department, Mr. Puneet Jain, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department, Mr. Govind Singh Chouhan, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department, Mr. Anshal Kumar, Teaching Assistant, Civil Engineering Department, and Mr. Insaf Mohd, Technical Assistant, Civil Engineering Department under the supervision of Dr. Esar Ahmad Head of Civil Engineering Department. The aim of survey camp is considered as one of the practical method of teaching. The main objective of organizing survey camp was to provide an exposure to students about practical working environment. Students get an opportunity to gain knowledge about industrial practices in the field of civil engineering.
