National Youth Day celebrated on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti

Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is celebrated all over the country as National Youth Day likewise a program was organized at Mewar University campus by ECE and EE Department.

Program started with traditional lamp lighting ceremony with auspicious presence of Dean Academics Dr. C.K. Sharma, Dean Research Dr. (Prof.) R.K. Paliwal and other higher officers.

A video documentary on the life of Swami Vivekananda was displayed highlighting his address at Chicago’s world religious congress in 1893.

Professor Paliwal enlightened the students and faculty members with the lessons to learn from the life of Swami Vivekananda. He said, “Swami Vivekananda fought against many social evils like casteism, religious extremism, fanaticism etc and promoted universal moral values of humanity, tolerance, inclusiveness and social harmony by giving example of Indian history and culture.” He further added, Swami Vivekananda specially motivated youth by saying “Arise, Awake and Stop not until your goal is reached”.

“Swami Vivekananda propagated Vedanta philosophy till his last breath”. He added.

A mesmerizing poem was recited by Abhishek Pandey, student of B.Sc. Agriculture. A melodious song was sung by Tausif Alam, student of B.Pharma. Speeches on the life of Swami Vivekananda were delivered by Benito Tep and Balaram, students of various courses. Patriotic dance was represented by Rakesh and his team, students of B.Sc. Agriculture.

Program ended with vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Gaurav Sharma, HoD of ECE Department and at last National Anthem was sung.
