Ghaziabad:The curtain finally came down on the four-day event, Scout & Guide camp, at the Vasundhara campus of Mewar Group of Institutions in which 95 B.Ed students took part and performed traditional dance of 11 states. The scout & Guide camp program that started on January 27, 2015 concluded on January 30, 2015 with a cultural extravaganza and convocation ceremony.
During convocation, Dr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya, Chairperson, Mewar Group of Institutions, himself put the badge on the passing students and offered them sweets. Dr. Gadiya urged the passing students to be the beacon of a new hope for our society. He asked the students to teach others all the good things that they learnt at Mewar. He added that as teachers the reins of this country’s future will be in their hands and hence they must be ready now to play a crucial role in the development of our society.
Mr. Kapil Singh, City Magistrate, Ghaziabad, and the chief guest on this occasion, said that society needs good teachers with a positive mindset. He stated that a positive mindset always takes people towards creativity whereas a negative mindset towards destruction. Dr. Gadiya presented a shawl and a memento to honour Mr. Singh on the occasion. Among those present were Dr. Alka Agarwal, Director of the Institute, faculty members and staff.
Earlier, the Vasundhara campus of Mewar Group of Institutions had witnessed a kaleidoscopic panorama of 11 states reflecting their varied culture, food, dress and living style when 170 students of Mewar Group of Institution organized Scout & Guide camp for inspection by a distinguished panel of judges. The Haryana team won the first prize whereas the Bengal and Rajasthan teams were placed second and third, respectively.
The tents put up by the students were inspected by Dr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya, Chairperson, Mewar Group of Institutions, Dr. Alka Agarwal, Director of the Institute and Shri Bharat Bhushan, DG, Law Department. The tents were adjudged on parameters such as their beauty, the art of putting up the tent, their strength and their overall presentation.
