Mewar University has named its newly established state-of-the-art library for the Department of EE & EEE as Sir C.V. Raman Library in memory of great Indian physicist who won Nobel Prize for Physics in 1930 for his landmark discovery of “the Raman Effect”.
The library was formally inaugurated by Chairperson Dr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya who was the Chief Guest for the inauguration ceremony on August 30, 2014. Along with Honorable Chairperson, other senior university officials were also present on the occasion, which included Dr. R .K. Garg (Dy.Dean, Basic Science), Mr. S. K. Das (Director-Training), Dr. Harish Nagar (Director-Research), Ms. Priyanka Gautam (Director-Diploma), Mr. D. K. Sharma (Dy. Dean, Engineering) and all other department H.O.Ds.
It was a memorable day for the Department of Electrical Engineering (Mewar University, Chittorgarh campus) as the well-equipped library for the Electrical Engineering Department was formally opened for its students, faculty members and staff.
The library has been set up with a view to providing the students of Electrical Engineering with the best available text books for all the relevant subjects. It already has books published by reputed publications like Elsevier, John Wiley, etc. Biographies of eminent personalities such as Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam and Barack Obama are also available for students to study and draw inspiration from their lives.
