Mewar University Celebrated Engineer’s Day

Mewar University celebrated Engineer’s Day on 15th of Sept. 2014 on the occasion of 154th Birth Anniversary of Dr. M. Visvesvarayya, an eminent Civil Engineer, scholar, statesman, and a recipient of Bharat Ratna.

The event was organized by Department of Electronics & Communication under the guidance of Mr. Gaurav Sharma (Assistant Proff. & HOD, Dept. of ECE) on the Theme- “Spiritualism & Science”.

The Theme was inspired by the works of Sir J.C. Bose who said that “Even Matter is Life but a Life in different Domain”.

Mr. S.K. Das (Director, Training & Placement), Mrs. Priyanka Gautam (Director, Diploma) and Dr. Harish Nagar (Director, Research) were present on the occassion.

In his speech, Mr. Das laid emphasis on practical training & project building. "Teachers should stress more on teaching basic concepts to students," he said.

Highlights of the program:

Video invitation was sent to faculty & staff by Anil Kumar(4^th year) & Anant Shukla (3^rd year).

• 3D design of venue by the students of 2^nd & 3^rd year.
• A Techo-Exhibition was organized in which 8 teams participated with their projects & models.
•  Robotic Dance by Dubey Singh Deewan, a 1^st year student.
• Comedy Drama by Swadhin & Group, students of Diploma ECE.
•  Dr Ramesh Raskar’s (Proff. @ MIT) Video presentation on Femtography, showing his experiments on photography of photons of light.
•  Quiz competition

Mr. Shyam Sundar (Associate Lecturer, ECE Dept.) & Mr. Sayed Arif Ali (Associate Lecturer, ECE Dept.) coordinated the whole event. Anant Shukla (3^rd year, B.Tech. ECE)& Anil Kumar (4^th year, B.Tech. ECE) were the student coordinators.
