Tech Fest & Cultural Event Closes on 16th December

The Tech-fest 2013-14 which started with games, sports, cultural and technical activities from 6th of December,2013 finally closed on 16th December,2013 with cultural and prize distribution function. The Chief Guest of the Function was Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Registrar & Appellate Authority, IIT, Delhi. Shri Ashok Kumar Gadiya, Hon’ble Chairperson and Shri Govind Lal Gadiya, Hon’ble Secfretary Mewar Education Society and Member BOM were also present. Dy Dean, Mr D.K.Sharma and Director (Diploma) Dr Harish Nagar took Dr Rakesh Kumar on round of the various activities prepared by the students including science exhibition and different Labs and Library plus other infrastructure. Dr Rakesh was highly impressed with the progress made by the University during a very short span of 5 years.

 Earlier in the morning session there was departmental competition about ramp-walk. The newly elected Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Begun Constituency, Shri Suresh Dhakar was the Hon’ble Guest. All the Departments participated in the event. The participants were full of vigor and presented variety and novelty in the ramp-walk . The Team of Management and Law was adjudged the winner and the Team of Basic Sciences was the runner. The Guest of the Function Mr Suresh Dhakar, MLA spoke on the occasion and impressed upon the students to put in hard labor as the outer world is very competitive and to stand in the market you need knowledge, talent and sincerity coupled with sense of duty and devotion. He also said that he is also student of Mewar University as he is pursuing his Ph.D. Degree from Mewar University.

  The second half program started with Ganesh Vandana and departmental competition about dance and songs. This session was devoted to the dance, drama, songs and basically to prize distribution to the students who have excelled in the studies, games, sports and cultural and technical activities. The team of Basic Sciences was the winner and the team of CS/CA was the runner. The hall was full packed with enthusiastic students. Dr Rakesh Kumar, who was the Chief Guest of the Function shared his experience of working in the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti and how this scheme brought a major change in the lives of rural students. He impressed upon the students that there is no short-cut in life one has to make hard labor to achieve success in life. Shri Ashok Kumar Gadiya, Hon’ble Chairperson of the University thanked Dr Kumar for sparing his valuable time and visiting the University and informed that this is only University in India which has sent its students on 6 monthly training in Government and reputed institutions and it is a matter of pleasure that many students have been absorbed in those Industries where the students had been sent on training. He also informed that he has initiated the process of entering into agreement with many foreign Universities for exchange of students and faculty. Shri Govind Lal Gadiya, Hon’ble Secretary, MES and Member BOM also thanked the guest and Hon’ble Chairperson for making all out efforts for the growth of weaker and unprivileged students of society.

 The program was attended by Dr R.K.Paliwal, Dean, Dr Vasudevji  Ramrakhiyani Advisor Mr H.Widhani, OSD, Mr S.K Das, Director (Trg),  Mr Harish Gurnani, Director (Placement), Dr Harish Nagar, Director (Diploma), Shri D.K.Sharma, Dy Dean, all the faculty members, non-teaching staff and students.
