Mewar University remembers Guru Nanak’s teachings on Guru Nanak Jayanti

Chittorgarh:The Department of Management of Mewar University celebrated “Guru Nanak Devji’s Jayanti on 16th November, 2013. The function was presided over by Hon’ble Dean, Dr. R.K.Paliwal, with OSD Mr Widhani, faculty members and students of Management and Computer Application Department.

Guru Nanak Devji is the first Guru of Khalsa Panth. Guru Nanak Devji was not only a saintly person who enlightened the society with his divine knowledge, but a great social reformer who preached the concept of brotherhood above caste, creed or color.  He was a Guru in the real sense. The educational philosophy of Guru Nanak Devji occupies the foremost position. He is the beacon of spiritual inspiration. Although the mind of a pupil has great powers, it blossoms with the help of a real teacher. A teacher has a challenging task as only the guidance of the guru imparts light and restores confidence. It offers direction and purpose to one’s life. The role of a teacher is not only to impart education but also to inculcate social and civil virtues so that pupils can lead a disciplined life and are ready to do selfless service to mankind.

Hon’ble Dean advised the students and the faculty to follow the principles and philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev to fulfill the goal and mission of their life and be an asset to our nation. We must draw inspiration from the teachings and sufferings of the great saints, social reformers, national heroes who have sacrificed their life for the society. We must follow their teachings to make the society a better place to live in.

At the end, Mr Sanjay Kumar, HOD Department of Management thanked all the participants for making the program a success.
