Chittorgarh:Students of Mewar University observed Hindi Diwas on 14th September with a pledge to give Hindi its due importance as our national language. An event was organized in the management Block auditorium with great fervor to mark the occasion. Dr. DK Khurana, Dean (Management) was the Chief Guest, Dr. Harish Nagar, Director, Diploma presided over the program. Shri O P Laddha was the Guest of Honour.
The celebrations started with the lighting of the lamp and floral offerings to Goddess Saraswati. Dr. D K Khurana spoke on the relevance and growing significance of Hindi in the global context. Dr. Harish Nagar presented his views on the Hindi language and its significance in the national perspective. He recited a poem and urged students to learn as many languages as one can. He also said that without popularizing Hindi, it would be difficult to develop a real sense of nationalism in India. Mr. Manish Kumar Bhatt, faculty in Education, spoke on the popularity of Hindi in foreign countries. Mr. Shiv Lal Taylo, Ms. Namrata Soni, Mr. Deepak Ameta and Ms. Anju Sharma, faculty members in Education, also presented their views and perspectives on the contemporary use of Hindi as a language.
At the end of the program, a quiz competition on Hindi was conducted by Ms. Manju Chashtha. The quiz competition was open to everyone present in the hall and prizes were distributed among the winners subsequently. The program concluded with a vote of thanks given by Ms. Kalpna Kothari, faculty member in the Education department.
