One Day Seminar on Researches in Astrology

 

Mewar University and the All India Federation of Astrologer’s Society jointly organized a seminar on “Researches in Astrology” at Mewar University campus in Gangrar, Chittorgarh on 18th August 2013, Sunday. This seminar is an outcome of the MoU signed between Mewar University and the All India Federation of Astrologers (AIFAS) signed on 20th March 2013. Under this MoU a PGRI program in astrology will be carried on jointly by Mewar University and the federation. The thrust area of the seminar was the “need of research in astrological sciences”.   The main objective of the seminar was to invite distinguished scholars and astrologers to deliver lectures and discuss the importance of research in astrology to enable the students and lovers of astrology to understand the theme of the PGRI, which is derived from a strong need of research in astrology. There was no registration fee for the participants of the seminar.

The event began with “Lighting of the Lamp” at 10:00 AM followed by the inaugural session. Lectures by eminent and internationally acclaimed astrologers followed the inaugural session. Sh. Ashok Kumar Gadiya, Chairperson, Mewar University, Sh. C R Choudhary, Pro-President, Mewar University, Sh. Arun Kumar Bansal, President, AIFAS, Smt. Abha Bansal, Vice President, AIFS addressed the gathering among others and highlighted the need for honest and genuine research in Astrology. The key speakers stressed that Astrology is a science and is currently under threat from ad -hoc experts who misrepresent the science. They also stressed that only honest and genuine research can help the cause of the  science of astrology.  The event was a platform where seasoned astrologers from across the country presented their research papers and exchanged ideas and thoughts pertaining to the recent trends in astrology. The paper presentations and discussions continued from 11:00 AM till 6:00 PM. The seminar ended with a valedictory session which started at 6:00 PM.  The event was a grand success and the participants returned with unforgettable memories of the academic event.
